A Street Cat Named Bob

This charming film, based on James Bowen’s book, is the true story of his friendship with a ginger cat. When James, a busker and a recovering drug addict, finds a wounded cat in his flat, little does he know how this ginger cat is going to change his life. Bob follows James wherever he goes and becomes a novel attraction, sitting on his shoulder whilst he plays. This double act, draws crowds of admirers, especially cat lovers who share their experiences with the busker. His friendship with Bob transforms James’ life and gives him the incentive to conquer his dependence on drugs.

The film is directed by Roger Spottiswoode and features Luke Treadaway, who plays James Bowen, Ruta Gedmintas, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head.

For those of us who know how difficult it is to train a cat, one of the most astonishing features is Bob’s acting abilities. This is a film which offers a truly feel good experience and which is suitable for adults and children alike.
